Did You Know?

Reading scripture through the years has made me aware that many times Jesus asked a question back to the person who posed Him a question. In some of my blog posts, I am going to use this method. It allows us to dig deeper into ourselves and into the word of scripture.

Did you know that God does not want any of our pain to be wasted? In Isaiah 61:2-3, it states, “…. To comfort all who mourn, and provide for those who grieve Zion - to bestow on them a crown of BEAUTY instead of ASHES….”

When a divorce is finalized, there is almost always the question of what to do with the wedding ring. Do you sell it? Do you bury it away in a drawer, never to see the light of day? In my case, I believe I heard God say that I could turn my ashes into beauty and remind me of how He has carried me through this journey. My ring was a wedding band with diamonds encircling it. I went to the jeweler where the ring was purchased and gave her my drawing of what I would like. We changed the ring into a cross diamond necklace. Now, when I wear it, I do not see or feel the pain at all from the last few years. Instead, I remember how God has been so faithful and turned my ashes into beauty, and I smile.
